Tiny Dancer

We have known from the moment Ruby started to walk that she needed to give dancing a try.  She began walking on her toes and she has never stopped.  It is pretty darn cute.  She seriously prances around everywhere on her tip toes.  And she certainly has the calves to show for it.  She has a dance class once a week where she does ballet and tap.  It has been said that her points with her toe are pretty darn good.  We realized pretty quickly that we needed to stop talking about how well she was doing though because she was repeating it and it was going to her head.

The teacher doesn't like for us to stay and watch because we are too distracting, but we snuck a couple of pictures during one of her classes.

At the end of December she had her first recital.  She did great when she wasn't distracted by everybody watching.  I think she could really be a great little dancer, we'll just have to see if it is something she stays interested in.

Michael Buble From a Kindergartner's Perspective

Driving home from school one day Kode started talking about the singer Michael Buble. I hardly knew who he was and wondered how my 6 yr old knew who he was. He informed me that they were listening to his Christmas music in their kindergarten class and that his teachers love him so much that they would never miss a single concert of his. I asked him what he thought of his music and he said he liked it, but that one of the songs that they listen to sounds kind of tragic in the beginning and then gets happy all of a sudden. Funniest and most unexpected description ever. Seriously made me laugh hard.
