Ruby-duby-doo

It's been a while since I've updated and my little Ruby girl has been changing and growing up so fast. She is so aware of everything happening around her now. She has the head nod down perfectly and it has been so helpful. I ask her a question and she nods yes almost every time. It is pretty funny to see a baby trying to control the heaviest part of their body. They are pretty aggressive head nods. She screams and squeals all of the time. There is so much noise coming out of her mouth constantly. I can't imagine where she's picked that up from. She still gets the hiccups every time she laughs. And her brother and sister love to make her laugh. Ruby is such a happy girl. She loves to get into toilet paper. There have been times that I've walked into the bathroom and found the whole roll of toilet paper unraveled with most of it in the trash can. She loves to tear pieces off and wipe her nose. She's figured that one out and thinks it's fun to wipe my nose too. She is becoming more comfortable around animals lately. She likes to see our neighbor's dogs and she loves grandma and grandpa's chickens. She walks right up to those chickens and tries touch them. She still gets a kick out of our gerbil too. Luckily she has quit opening the cage for her to climb out. She did have a pretty scary experience with her cousin's turtle today. It was blocking the entrance to the door that led to me. To be fair, if a turtle were my size, I think I'd be uneasy too. She loves her glowworm which we have incorrectly been calling her glowbug. But it's too late, that's what she knows it by. When she wakes up in the morning or from her afternoon nap we know it because we can hear her glowbug singing. Never has a child of mine woken up without crying or screaming to get out of bed. She is so pleasant! She is such a cute little "mommy". She loves to push baby dolls around in her little stroller and she picks them up to hug and kiss them. She feeds them and just loves to hold them close.

Her new favorite game is Ring-Around-the-Rosie, especially on the trampoline. Every now and then I'll catch her singing "Ashes, ashes" and then something to the effect of "down" and then she giggles. Tonight when she was standing on her chair at dinner time, I kept saying, "sit down Ruby", which inspired this song. She thought she was hilarious. I think she's dangerous. She is so proud of herself these days because she can climb up on everything. Yesterday she fell off of a chair and got her first bloody nose. She climbs on the piano bench and plays the piano, and like my other babies did, she turns to receive her applause. So the words she is saying these days are: up, yes, grandpa (she says this every time she gets out of our car. she turns around and looks at his house and calls his name), Lyda, daddy, momma, shoes, juice (which sounds very similar to shoes), all gone, eyes (while poking you in the eye), yay, nose (while touching somebody's nose), ashes, uh oh, and apple. So far this is what I've recorded, but she often will try to repeat a word when we ask her to. It's so fun to watch her grow up. I love this girl so much. As cliche as it sounds, I can't imagine life without her.

Laundry

I feel like I do laundry non-stop. My least favorite part is folding it and putting it away. So the other night this is what Steve found when he walked in the room.

Laundry makes me tired.
