10 years? Really?

Well we made it!  10 years of marriage.  Hooray!  I sort of imagined we'd do something more glamorous, like Hawaii or something for our 10 year anniversary, but since I was all pregnant, we decided to take a quick trip to Vegas instead.  Not sure I'd say Vegas is my kind of city, but what a great trip we had anyway.  It was just nice to get away and have a little alone time.  We stayed at the Trump Hotel, which I'd actually recommend.  There were no casinos and no smoking, so it was quiet and I didn't have to worry about inhaling too much smoke.  It was a little off the strip, but right across from a mall that provided a short cut that put us right there.  The other thing I really liked about the hotel, was the giant bathtub.  I hate that most bathtubs don't cover enough of my body, especially pregnant.  Not this tub!  I seriously want one of these someday.     

We did a ton of walking.  My feet were pretty swollen by the end of each day.  We saw a couple of shows that we really enjoyed.  The Mac King Show and Mystere.  We ate some great food at one of Emeril's restaurants.  Seriously some of the best filet medallions I've ever had, man I couldn't get enough steak with this pregnancy.                                                                      

And of course what trip to Vegas would be complete without visiting the Bellagio's fountains.  We tried to catch the show a couple of times, but they kept cancelling it because of the wind.  Finally we were able to see them on our last night there.  It was a pretty amazing show!

Probably my favorite part of this trip was ring shopping.  I was so impressed that my husband took the time to find out what the 10th anniversary was all about.  Apparently the 10th is the "tin anniversary".  Who knew?  Anyway, the suggested gift ideas seemed to revolve around diamonds, so Steve decided that he wanted to get me a 10th anniversary diamond ring.  Um, ok.  I usually don't go for this stuff because of the expense, but I loved the idea that he came up with it and that it would be a reminder of our 10th year together.  And I also love that he wanted to shop together for it.  I'm not the type who loves the surprise as much as I love the shopping for the surprise.  We picked out a simple, beautiful ring that I love and now wear everyday.  So glad to be married to this wonderful, loving, hard-working man.  Ten years down, and hopefully many more to come!
